Kate Halligan is a licensed Occupational Therapist with more than a decade of experience supporting older adults across acute care, long-term care, assisted living, and home health. She is known for her ability to step into complex situations, bring immediate clarity, and restore stability for clients and families who need expert guidance.
After completing her graduate training in Occupational Therapy, Kate built her career around a singular focus: helping adults and seniors maintain safety, independence, and quality of life. Her master’s thesis on fall prevention sparked a professional commitment to proactive, evidence-based solutions. She later became both a Certified Fall Prevention Specialist and an Aging-in-Place Specialist, reflecting her dedication to creating safe, functional environments where older adults can thrive.
Kate brings exceptional skill in assessing home environments, identifying hidden risks, and implementing practical modifications that prevent injuries and support daily independence. She believes that education and foresight are essential to healthy aging. Her work empowers older adults and their families with clear, actionable guidance that reduces preventable crises and builds confidence in everyday routines.
Kate has a reputation for stepping into complicated or unsafe situations and bringing them back into focus with clarity and precision. In addition to her work with CCS, Kate is a Certified Geriatric Care Specialist and an active volunteer with the Fairfax County Department on Aging, where she contributes to community initiatives that enhance the lives of older adults and their caregivers.
