Danica Flowers
Occupational Therapist and Certified Brain Injury Specialist
Danica Flowers, OTD, OTR/L, CBIS, holds a doctorate in occupational therapy and is a Certified Brain Injury Specialist with expertise in neurological rehabilitation, functional cognition, complex care management, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Her clinical experience includes acquired brain injury, stroke, dementia, cognitive impairment, and medically complex conditions that require coordination across providers, settings, and systems.
As an occupational therapist, Danica brings a functional perspective to complex clinical situations, considering not only diagnosis and treatment but how cognitive, physical, environmental, psychosocial, and family factors affect an individual’s ability to function safely and successfully in daily life. She works closely with individuals, families, physicians, therapists, social workers, attorneys, and other professionals to clarify needs, identify gaps in care, and develop practical, individualized plans that support independence, safety, and quality of life.
Danica also brings significant experience improving how clinical teams deliver care. She has developed evidence-based protocols, documentation standards, interdisciplinary education, and clinical workflows that strengthened communication, consistency, and follow-through. This work sharpened her ability to look at complicated situations as a whole, recognize what may be missing or getting overlooked, and bring structure and clarity when many people are involved.
Danica combines strong clinical reasoning with a broad understanding of how medical, functional, and psychosocial factors interact. She is particularly skilled at making complex information understandable and actionable, helping individuals and families navigate changing needs and make informed decisions that reflect each person’s goals, values, abilities, and quality of life.
